Chainsaw is a cut weapon used for the 7th slot and the second melee weapon in the first Space Monsters game. During the early development stage of the game's progress, it states that the chainsaw can mow and cut down enemies faster than a knife, mechanically similar to its variant from the first-person shooter game, Doom. However, there are 4 powerful weapons to slaughter enemies greatly. So it can be difficult to slaughter them in melee combat.

In the final version of the game, it was replaced by a Sniper Rifle as the fourth firearm and the seventh weapon slot for firing them at long range like the other guns even the screen follows the target when the Ctrl button is once pressed.
